Joining at 16+
Admission to the Sixth Form (approximately 20 places)
Entry into Sixth Form is at age 16. Therefore, girls for entry in September 2022 must have a date of birth between 1 September 2005 and 31 August 2006.
The relaxed atmosphere at NLCS Sixth Form, together with the smaller classes and closer relationships with the teachers, means lessons are interactive and stimulating. The benefits of being a Sixth Former, such as heading up societies, participating in overseas trips, undertaking work experience or using the common rooms makes school a really enjoyable experience.
Registration for 16+ Entry into the Sixth Form for 2022 is now open.
To register your daughter for entry into Sixth Form in September 2022 please complete the registration form below. There is a registration fee of £150 (£200 for overseas candidates).
Deadline: 1 October 2021 (27 September 2021 for overseas candidates)
We admit approximately 20 students each year into our Sixth Form to join pupils coming up from our own Year 11. We welcome girls who bring new approaches and fresh ideas. Our entrance tests and interviews ensure that the candidates are embarking on the right Sixth Form courses and are secure in their background work.
Sixth Form Open Afternoon - 23 September (1.30pm- 5.15pm)
The best way to find out about studying at NLCS is to visit us. Come to our Sixth Form Open Afternoon on Thursday 23 September.
The event will include tours of the school, talks from the Head and key members of staff. You will meet our current students, who can tell you more about life in the Sixth Form at NLCS.
At the end of the afternoon, we will be holding a Course Consultation where you can meet with subject teachers and discuss the study options available to you.
7 - 8 October 2021
Students will be invited for one day of entrance tests. These tests are in the subjects they are planning to study in the Sixth Form, and are based on the common core of the GCSE syllabuses.
1-5 November 2021
Short-listed pupils will be called for informal interviews with the appropriate Heads of Department.
We will ask your present school for a reference and for GCSE predictions before we call you for an interview. When a candidate is accepted, it is usually unconditionally, on the basis of our tests.
A number of Music Scholarships are awarded at 16+ on the basis of merit. Girls must pass the entrance examination and a music audition conducted by the music department to qualify. Visit here for further details.
In addition to Music Scholarships, Bursaries are available for Sixth Form candidates, in case of financial need. Visit here for further details.
Applications for Bursaries and Music Scholarships need to be submitted along with your daughter's registration and by the deadline of 1 October 2021.
Places sometimes become available in the Sixth Form after the entrance tests have been completed. Late applications may be made up to mid-March. Please note, however, that there is no guarantee that places will be available at this stage, and that all financial awards will have been made following the October tests.
